The BLOG Goes On Vacation

We’re going to be away for a few days, visiting our son in Puerto Rico. Several of our kids with spouses are able to join us. Hopefully it will be a very relaxing time. It’s probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for Judy and me….. but you never know…

I’m sure the first thing that comes to your mind is , “Dave, what about the BLOG….. sure I hope you have a good time, but what about the BLOG?”  Listen, I know it may be hard if you don’t have the BLOG to greet you each morning; I really do understand. But in the words of Padre Pio, “pray, hope, and don’t worry.” 

Some of you may remember the 1991 movie, “What About Bob” . In the story, “a successful psychotherapist loses his mind after one of his most dependent patients, an obsessive-compulsive neurotic, tracks him down during his family vacation.” Bob Marley (the neurotic) was won over to Dr. Marvin’s method of therapy after reading his ground breaking book, titled “Baby Steps”.  Some of you may be identifying with Bob after reading my ground breaking BLOG, titled “Dave’s BLOG”. 

You may recall that Bob took a bus to Lake Winnipesaukee, NH to find Dr. Marvin. Please do not imitate Bob and follow me to Puerto Rico. There are no busses to Puerto Rico…so forget about it. And just so you know, I’m really not going to Puerto Rico, I’m headed for Istanbul, Turkey, and you can’t get a bus to Turkey.

In the meantime, please check out a few other BLOGS. Recommendations include: “Moe, Larry, & Curly ‘s 3 Steps to Sanity”….or what about “Bella Lugosi’s Rules of Etiquette”, or even Donald Duck’s “ Perfect Speech in One Week”.

So, this will be a good test to see if you can stand on your own two feet without the BLOG for a few days. You can do it. And you never know, perhaps a surprise BLOG might pop in while we’re away.

And let’s remember to  remind ourselves of this magnificent passage from John’s gospel.  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
