I really enjoy the readings from Tobit. It’s like an exciting novel. Today’s reading shows Tobit and Sarah ready to end their lives…so distraught with their sorrows. Out of their distress they cried out to God. “The prayer of both was heard in the presence of the glory of the great God. And Raphael was sent to heal the two of them: to scale away the white films of Tobit’s eyes; to give Sarah the daughter of Raguel in marriage to Tobias the son of Tobit, and to bind Asmodeus the evil demon” (Tobit 3:16-17) Wow, it’s wonderful when you see the Lord answering prayers…sending reinforcements to enable you to be victorious. Raphael, the archangel, was in the form of a normal man and didn’t draw attention to himself… but he brought the wisdom and power of God to the situations. We can count on similar resources from God when we cry out in our desperate straits.

Road Trip Update:

Well, we made it to Pete & Mary’s home in Franklin,TN. on Tuesday afternoon. We spent time getting reacquainted with the kids, having a nice dinner, taking a walk thru their beautiful neighborhood, and chatting. Today, we went to mass at St. Philip’s church, followed by breakfast at the “Factory” where we enjoyed seriously good coffee, “5 Daughters” heavenly cronuts, and an acai bowl. A little browsing followed and now home for a brief rest.
Stay tuned, more to follow.
We are so blessed to take this trip and hug our children and our grandchildren. At our age, we experience the briefness of life as our friends pass. Thank you Jesus for our present moments🙌🏻
