“Finding Help in Time of Need”

I kept saying over and over, “Jesus help me…Jesus help me…Jesus help me.” As we rode to the hospital in the Emergency Squad truck, and as I experienced an MRI, I kept saying “Jesus help me”. I needed help!

The scriptures are filled with people finding themselves in trouble, big trouble and crying out for help.

In Matthew’s gospel it speaks of Peter on the water … “when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”(Mt. 14:30)

In the Old Testament David cries “ I call to you in times of trouble,
because you will answer me.”(Ps. 86:7)  In Hebrews, “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”(Heb. 4:15)

Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”(1Peter 5:7)

It goes on and on in the scripture; people find themselves in trouble, they call upon the Lord and he answers them.

So today we can find ourselves in trouble…maybe big trouble or maybe just some annoyance or aggravation. Regardless, call upon the Lord for help and he will answer us.  By the way, I told my friend to NEVER tell me that joke again.
