We will be on vacation for 10 days and I’m wondering if we should take a vacation from the BLOG. Will the world come to an end if I don’t publish my BLOG every day? Are there people who get out of bed each day and head for the nearest bridge, ready to jump , and it’s the BLOG that holds them back? I have to say “it’s a lot of pressure knowing that I may be responsible for the survival of the entire world.” Oh, what to do, what to do, what to do.”

One of the things I wrestle with when writing my BLOG is should I just write a “hit & run”, a “glancing blow”, or a more developed thought. Should I be satisfied with a cliché or do I need to write a book? I guess a BLOG, by nature, is the former. When I began writing, I was of the mind that if I publish a real dud, at least it will be short and the pain will not linger. I guess there’s nothing worse than a “really long lousy movie or BLOG”….auuuuuugh. Okay, where are we going with this?
Should I bring my computer on vacation and look to write a daily BLOG? Should I try to do a very abbreviated blog, with not much meat. Should I re-publish some earlier BLOGS that some have not read or maybe read and forgotten. Or should I just give everyone a break for a couple of weeks., even at the possible expense of someone taking a jump from the GW Bridge? Wow, this is pretty tough.
Okay, I think I’ve made my decision. After a lot of prayer and discussion, I think “I’ll play it by ear” ….. “ I’ll take it as it comes.” Hmmmmm, that may seem like “kicking the can down the road”. Wow, I think this BLOG may be setting a record for the use of clichés.
So, you’ll just have to wait and see. I suggest you get up at 5:00am each morning, pour yourself a cup of hot coffee, begin your prayer time, and at 6:00am, check your e—mails. Is there a NEW BLOG? Is there a repeat of an earlier BLOG? Is there NO BLOG ? Then repeat the process again the next day, and the next. Wow, this is exciting.
Of course please remember that it’s the Lord Jesus who has the whole world in his hands. He’s the one we call upon throughout the day to take care of us…to listen to our prayer and petitions, to forgive us when we sin, and to continue preparing that great place for us in heaven. With that in mind, we have nothing to fear, even if the BLOG “rides into the sunset”. And that is very good news.
Alarm set, breath baited, on the edge of my seat (to use a few cliches myself…)
