“In The Clouds”

“In The Clouds”…. listen to this song  as you read the BLOG today.

Our daughter Mary wrote it. When I first heard it, I loved it. It reminded me of the Lord’s ascension into heaven.  I could  picture the scene

“And when he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.  And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes,  and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” (Acts. 1:9)

As I listened to the song and thought of these words, my eyes began to fill up with tears. I thought, “Oh Lord don’t go….please don’t go…don’t leave us again Lord. We need you here with us. You just returned… our healing’s just beginning… Lord don’t go.” Scripture doesn’t tell of any of the disciples weeping…maybe they did, maybe not.

Yet, the Ascension Into Heaven is one of the glorious mysteries. The Lord said it’s good that I go, for we are sending the Holy Spirit…. and all will be well with you. I’m not leaving you alone. You won’t be alone…the comforter is coming to minister to your weary soul and all will be well. It’s good that I go.

And the two men/angels said, “men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven…..”

David, don’t weep for the Lord will return… Jesus will return… He’s coming again. Lift up your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and wipe away your tears for the Lord is coming again. In the meantime, the Holy Spirit, the counselor, the advocate, the love between the father and the son, will be with you. It’s all good !

May 26th is Ascension Day, the 40th day of Easter. It commemorates the ascension of Jesus into heaven 39 days after his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

  1. Just eat I needed to read today. Thanks Dad.

I like the name of Advocate for the Holy Spirit, like an attorney who whispers into your ear and tells you what to do. So comforting.

  2. In Mary’s song, I can see clouds gathering under Our Lord in their glory and majesty coming under the King of Kings and Lord of all. In the high notes I see hundreds of tiny angels(Holy Innocence) swirling around him, the Father welcoming the return of his Son. Those left had an overwhelming sense of mission to carryon His work of evangelization 🙌🏻⚓️ Thank you for strip to heaven today🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🙏🙏
