Today is the day of salvation! Today is the day! It’s not yesterday or tomorrow. It’s today! Clearly we can be grateful for the past and hopeful for tomorrow…but today is the day… today is the day of salvation. It’s all about now. I can impact my reality and my future, now…. today.
When shall I decide to serve the Lord ? When shall I pursue the Lord? When shall I really give the Lord an opportunity to love me? When I say “tomorrow”…. it’s really “kicking the can down the road”…..it’s saying NO.

How often I decided to push off until tomorrow what I should be doing today… the decision that was before me. There is grace for the moment, for the now. When I say NO to the Lord today, something happens to my heart…it’s gets harder. When I say NO, my mind begins to close. There’s a consequence to not accepting God’s love today…maybe eternal consequences.
Yet, because of his incredible and tender love for us, the Lord does not quit on us….. “He does not quench the smoldering wick or break the bruised reed.” (Is. 42:3) He is the hound of heaven. He is the father of the prodigal son, continuing to scan the distance looking for his beloved son who has left home. He is our savior suffering death on a cross to rescue us…for he loves us so. He calls out to us again, “today…it’s time to come home, it’s time to return to your God, to your heavenly family….return home, not to condemnation, but to open arms.”
The Lord has prepared a big welcome for you… a great banquet, royal robes, music and song, and dancing. There will be rejoicing that springs from the depth of hearts…. joy, deep joy. It’s time to come home. Come home today. Today is the acceptable time….today is the day of salvation. “For he says, “At the acceptable time I have listened to you, and helped you on the day of salvation. Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2Cor. 6:2)
So, I say to you who find it difficult to believe in Jesus….who find it difficult to trust him… to you who have suffered and are wounded… to you who can’t take the next step of faith….it’s time to come home to your God. Today is the day of salvation. May each of us take that step today. “Jesus, help me…take my hand and bring me home…don’t leave me Lord….”
Today is the acceptable time……today is the day of salvation.
Come Lord Jesus and take more of my heart🙏
