“ELECTION DAY…..Lord Have Mercy !!!”

Well November 3, 2020 is election day. Everyone I know is nervous. It really does look like a historic time for the future of our nation. Usually it seems the political parties try and camouflage some of their positions…but this year the positions seem to be pretty clear. I don’t think either candidate for president would do very well on the “Mr. Personality TV show”, but we’re really voting on what positions they have taken and what they have done and will do ….., not on their personalities.

For one candidate we have had 4 years to see what he’s done…the other candidate is a lifelong politician and we have some 40+ years to see what he has done.  It’s really a question of where America stands …. what does America want. I’m afraid America will get what it wants. A democracy really depends on the basic character of their people.. if 51% are moral, then hopefully the direction of the country will be moral. If not, well……

I’ve been thinking of the story of Abraham and his nephew Lot and the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham asked the Lord “if I can find  50 or 40 or 30 or 20 or even 10 righteous people, will you spare Sodom?” And the LORD said, “If I find at Sodom even 10 righteous in the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake.” (Gen. 18:26-32) Wow Lord, I know there are more than 10 righteous people in our country, people who are praying and fasting for our nation. Lord will you spare the country for their sake?

I don’t know how all this works, but I pray for God’s mercy on our country. Lord have mercy on us . Lord hear our prayer. Help us as we seek to put you first and defend life and defend your commandments. Be merciful, oh Lord.

And in the final analysis for those who have put their faith and trust in the Lord, all will be well.

“Let all proclaim to the glory of God that Jesus Christ is Lord !

  1. I like what the Italians say about a newly elected Pope, “You don’t like this one? Don’t worry they’ll be a new one soon enough.”
