Well, we’re back from vacation. Judy and I spent 5 days at the Jersey Shore… we had a nice combination of overcast and beautiful sunny days. It was a relaxing time with walks on the beach, bike rides, too many trips to the bakery and “Cool Beans Coffee”… daily mass, lots of prayer, reading and more. I also found a “Western Movie Channel” that had some oldies but goodies, starring such actors as Burt Lancaster, John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Gregory Peck, Audie Murphy … they were pretty good… and as I like, “good triumphed over evil”. (a preview of things to come when Christ returns)

As I looked out on the ocean, I was mesmerized by the waves coming in… never stopping….crashing one after the other… day after day. God’s creation is incredible. It was therapy for my soul.
It’s funny that I’m home for a few hours and it seems like I was never away… gee, did I really go on vacation… I think I’m ready for another one.
As you may have noticed, I took a “BLOG” vacation also. I thought I’d refresh my brain with some new ideas by taking some time off. Well, I’m not sure it worked.
I think I’m still reeling a bit from the passing of my dear friend Walt Quense last week, and then hearing of the death of John Joseph Myers, Archbishop Emeritus of Newark. Archbishop Myers was a faithful friend to the People of Hope Community over the last almost 20 years. I watched his funeral mass live streamed from St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria. It was grand, with a wonderful eulogy/homily by a priest/friend of many years. It was an honor to know John Myers…a good Bishop. (I hope to dedicate a BLOG to him in the future.)
So, we’re back in the BLOG business and I’d like to end with a quote I saw today on the cover of the “Sisters of Life” Fall Publication entitled “Eternity”. I think it’s especially appropriate as dear friends pass on to eternity…..
“Eye has not seen,
And ear has not heard,
And it has not entered the heart of man,
WHAT GOD HAS PREPARED
FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
(1Cor. 2:9)
It was so good to hear your musings this morning, Dad. Don’t have to be fancy; sincerity and hope is all we need.

Hi Dave,
So happy you were able to get a vacation. Larry and I are leaving next Wednesday for a little business/vaca to the mountains of West Virginia.
Is your community associated with People of Praise in South Bend? Maybe a little light history of the Charismatic Movement in USA in response to Amy Cooney Barrett
Nomination?
God bless
Colleen

Dave. Welcome back. With my porous memory I had forgotten you were away. I was saying yesterday I wanted to check and make sure you were OK, so I was so glad to get your email this morning. Hope to catch you one of these days, God bless! Dick
