Well if ESPN can do it on Michael Jordon, I thought I’d pull back the curtain on MY BLOG.

Some of you may have noticed that I did not publish a BLOG yesterday. While I know you were pretty disappointed, I thought it might give me an opportunity to explain what goes on behind the BLOG, some of the drama, the “good, the bad, and the ugly”.  What does it mean to get “Writer’s Block? What does it mean to “Get Stuck In The Mud”? What does it mean to “Be behind the 8 Ball”? I’ve been doing the BLOG since the first of April and I have a lot to tell. I feel like I can relate to some of the great writers of the past and the difficulties they went thru in putting together their writings. … Tokien, Lewis, Dickens, Twain, Schultz, Larson, Wonka.

Well, let me let you in on a significant key to getting thru some of these tough times. Yes, it’s making a “LIST”.  Many years ago my mother would walk into my room, see me at my desk and ask me what I was doing? I’d confidently say that “I’m making a LIST…. number one is studying Organic Chemistry for 2 hours, number two is to study Biology for 1 hour, next is to write a paper for my Philosophy class, next write up that Genetics lab report, then I’m going to clean up my room and wash the car. Ten minutes later she would find me watching the “3 stooges” on TV. She’d say what happened to the list? I’d tell her I needed a little break before I began… a little break and a few chocolate chip cookies. She would roll her eyes and walk out.

I still make lists and find they are very helpful when I get “stuck in the mud” and can’t seem to get started. This technique can work for other things besides a BLOG. I’ve been making a list during the coronavirus isolation. Number 1 on the list- get up, number 2- get a cup of coffee, number 3- look out the window, number 4- get a refill on the coffee. Well, I hope that helps you as you make your way thru the isolation from the virus. And if that doesn’t work, say a prayer and ask God to help… you may even want to make that number one on your list.

  1. I am also a list maker if the imp things I need to get done in a week, very general and open to being changed which often happens. It gives me direction and shows me if I have a balance of work and relationships 🙌
