“Your Presence In My Soul”

As I may have mentioned, your prayers have been answered. Volume II of Dave’s BLOGS has gone to the printer and will be available during the Christmas season. After Volume I reached all times sales levels, I’m anticipating  another banner effort with Volume II. 

To be honest, Volume I had only one customer and it was me. I bought copies and gave them as gifts to family and friends for Christmas last year. 

I was glancing thru Volume I the other day and had to admit that some of the BLOGS were “not bad”, even “pretty good”  (I published one from October 2020 yesterday). I actually thought that they were maybe better than those from later years. Hmmmmmm. What does that mean? Perhaps it means that this “mine” (mind) has been tapped out…nothing left. “Sorry, but there’s nothing left in that ole brain…. no further words of wisdom…better start going to AI for your dose of daily advice.” 

Yet as I was recently reading and praying I was reminded how the Holy Spirit illuminates each day, bringing insight and strength and hope to the challenges of we face. So while my tiny brain may be tapped out, I know the Holy Spirit and his “brain” is never tapped out. He is the source of life. 

St. John Henry Newman wrote, “Dear Lord…shine through me, and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Your presence in my soul…let me thus praise You in the way You love best, by shining on those around me.” So if we stay connected to the Holy Spirit, we can be a conduit of his love and grace to those around us. That is the hope of this fragile and simple BLOG. 

And may each of us be that conduit of God’s love to others through our presence, our words, our touch, and even our writings. And that would be “Good News”.
