Getting Together For Thanksgiving

Judy and I are breaking in our new hiking boots and poles that we received from our daughter Angela and husband Dave last year. With family beginning to arrive for Thanksgiving we got things rolling with a hike this morning. To be honest I’m very proud of ourselves.

The hike was on a somewhat dangerous trail in the Great Swamp with 3 of our grandsons from Tennessee. We saw a lot of mud, a worm, 2 birds, and quite a few leaves. We had walked a few  miles and were almost out of food and water (actually we hadn’t brought any food and water) when we were starting to get a bit weary and I wasn’t 100% confident we knew exactly where we were. Thanks to my grandson Noah, the pathfinder and his assistants Ryder and Jordan, we did make it out successfully.

Overall  we made the 4 mile hike in 2 hours for a fairly brisk average of 2 miles per hour. We made it home for some tasty treats from Gramma.

We are very happy that a good part of our family will be coming together for Thanksgiving. We love to see them and wish everyone could be here. We’ll be able to catch up on things, enjoy each other’s company, and toast the goodness of the Lord.

Let’s each make a list of the many things we have to be grateful for and  toast the Lord for his goodness to us. We wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving.

P.S. The Blog will be “hit & miss” over the Thanksgiving holidays, so check your in box….. it may be there, or may not be there. Also hard copies of Volume 2 from 2021 will be hitting the press soon, so I’ll be passing on details on how to order a copy.

  1. I’m VERY proud of you! The adventurous spirit has only grown since Italy!

Wish we could be there for Thanksgiving. One day, there won’t be any separation.

I remember Ray Cody taking us to Friendly’s for clown (upside down cone) ice cream. I felt so special. May the Lord welcome him home.

    Love you, Cris
