Today I published the 1,349th BLOG. I’m starting to feel that the BLOG needs a break…maybe a break for a time or a more permanent break. I published the first BLOG on March 31, 2020….wow, that’s over 4 years ago. I wish it was more clear as to what I should do, but it’s not. I do know that the BLOGS are starting to feel a bit stale. While I sometimes experience a bit of an adrenalin rush as I’m putting them together, nevertheless, I’m not as excited as before. Why is that? Hmmmmmmm.

Part of me hates to stop because I’m not sure I’ll ever get going again. Does the Lord have something else for me to do? I don’t know. A few thoughts are:
- Print a book of the BLOGS or some of them to give to my kids and grandkids so they might read them down the road …after all, most of my grandkids are pretty young … down to only 3 months old.
- Complete the writing of Judy & my life stories for which I made a start several years ago. I’ve done some ancestry work which needs to also be brought to some sort of a conclusion. Maybe try to combine the two.
- Consider writing a book… maybe the 10 best things I’ve learned about loving God after over 52 years of really trying…… or something like that.
- Perhaps I need to resurrect my amateur woodworking projects. I’ve made many nativity stables over the years and given them to family and friends as wedding gifts. My tie rack is falling apart…maybe I should make a new one.
- And of course there’s always climbing Mount Everest.
These are all pretty low level projects, but if the Lord wants me to do them, then they’re important…maybe more for me, than for anyone else. Doing God’s will is my top priority and really the only priority…”loving God and loving my neighbor”. Jesus has loved me so wonderfully well, I really want to return that love in some way.
So, for now, I’m going to take a break from the BLOG. I may throw in a new one here and there, but maybe not. In the meantime, you can browse thru all 1,300+ of them by just going to davetouhillsr.comand click on the BLOG POSTS tab at the top and begin wandering; hopefully you’ll find some that might help you. If you think of it, send a comment.
In the meantime:
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”(Phil. 2:5-11)
What a a great photo! You never know what the Lord has as the next steps for you.
I really like the idea of Mom and your life stories! I’d love to know them and pass them on. Maybe also stories from your parents or relatives that you remember?
I will miss my morning email from you – it was like having a nice chat with you each day. But I’ll explore the blog in the meantime!
Love you, Dad.

I have really appreciated your blog and while I understand the break it will be missed. I suggest you look into Storyworth. I purchased an annual subscription for my Mom a few years back. It is a guided reflection on life’s stories. All the best. Rich Stein

I don’t get to read them all – but I will certainly miss them! God bless you and whatever you are about. Keep us posted!

PS: I didn’t see anything on the list of options that resembled “fruit stand”. Interesting . . . .
