“Don’t Forget To Pray For Us”

Today is February 29, 2024. Today we buried the cremains of my brother Neal who passed away last March 17th. It was a blessed passing as he received the Last Rites and Apostolic Blessing before he died.

Brown, or Uncle Brown, as he was known to family, had previously made a decision to donate his remains to the University of Arizona Medical School for the training of future physicians. The studies recently ended, his body was cremated and was sent to New Jersey for burial…today was that day.

“Rest In Peace”

Typically after someone passes away, the burial is within a week or two of the death. In some ways, there is a completion of at least the initial grief within those first couple of weeks. In this case, it’s been almost a year since Neal died and we’re just now getting to the burial. After a year, the edge is off the grief to a large degree, but in other ways…..

I’m happy that there is a completion to the earthly side of his passing and that there’s not much left for us to do… except to continue to pray for him. He was a good man and I’m hopeful he’s enjoying his new and eternal heavenly home. And that is very good news. One final word,  “Brown, don’t forget to pray for us.”

  1. Dear Dad, So glad you could lay him to rest next to Granny. Praying for you as you continue to mourn and celebrate him.

  2. Neal Joseph Touhill, thank you for your love for so many years for David and me and our family. Most of all, thanks for being faithful to Our Lord in good times and in bad, living a simple way of life, and generous with your resources. May your heavenly reward be great🙏🙌
