The lyrics go:

“I can see clearly now the rain is gone…. I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)…..Bright (bright) sunshiny day…It’s gonna be a bright…..
I think I can make it now the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright) ….Bright (bright) sunshiny day
Look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead, there’s nothing but blue skies ….”
It’s amazing when you turn to God how things clear up and you can see clearly. I remember feeling like the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders when I turned to the Lord and I was baptized in his Holy Spirit. I was not alone anymore …God was with me… Jesus would help me and never abandon me. Wow !!!
When you turn to God, whether for the first time or after drifting and rejecting him for many years, he’s there waiting and eager to welcome you home. “It will be a “bright sunshiny day”. I recently read that the great saint Charles de Foucauld, turned away from God in his later years…drifting away, withdrawing, rejecting God, embracing death. Yet the Lord gently pursued him, softening his soul, and overwhelming him with his love and blessings. He once again embraced Christ in the present…. “the Present all lit up with eternal rays.” (C.S. Lewis)
So if you find yourself “gloomy and in the rain, with all kinds of obstacles in your way, in pain and bad feelings”, then turn to Christ and allow Jesus to save you…right now, in the present. Let’s allow him to lite up your day with eternal rays.

All so true🙌🏻 with our commitment to Christ, we were given boldness to follow him wherever he led us. We gave us boldness to speak about him. The sacraments and the Scriptures came alive! Everyday is an adventure when we try to proclaim his love🙌🏻
