God Has A Great Memory For Numbers

At times some of us can think that the Lord has forgotten us. While we know of his great love for us, we still can think, he’s “busy” and has more important things to worry about. After all it’s estimated that some 180 billion people have lived since the world began…. wow 180,000,000,000 people. It’s also estimated some 8,000,000,000 people are alive today. Yikes, I have trouble keeping track of myself. God is keeping track of every human being.

Jesus tells us that God even has counted the hairs on our head. “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s will. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.” (Mt. 10:29-30)

Okay, try this on for size…..how about the total number of hairs that God has counted up over the years. My research (actually I googled it) says we are born with 100,000 hairs on our head. Okay, let’s do the math….. 180,000,000,000 people times 100,000 hairs per person = 1.8 X 10¹⁶  or 10,000,000,000,000,000  or 10 quadrillion hairs that God has counted. Hmmmmmmm.

Okay, let’s see if we can “scrounge up” a point to this BLOG.  Because God is God he is not limited to our limitations. Whether 10 quadrillion or 10 centillion hairs, God is not tested. He’s God. What he says, he can do. He is truth, so what he says is true, even if it seems well beyond our limits. So, when he says, “I am close to the brokenhearted; and those who are crushed in spirit I save” (Psalm 34).. you can count on it. When Paul says, “the Lord will rescue me from every evil threat and will bring me safe to his heavenly kingdom” (2Tim.4:6-18), you can take it to the bank. When Jesus tells us “ whoever humbles himself will be exalted”.( Luke 18:9-14) than we should really seek to humble our self because the outcome is going to be very good for us. God is God !!! God is great and powerful and almighty and wonderful AND…. He loves us.

So, let’s count on the Lord keeping track of the sparrows and the hairs on our head, but most especially of our very souls and our wonderful inheritance of heaven. This is great news. Let’s rejoice and be glad that our fantastic God loves us.   P.S. And don’t worry if you’re bald, God still loves you… it just reduces some of the  numbers.
